Sweeping Away the Cobwebs...

Hello to my faithful friends, fellow writers and readers all....

Every so often (more often than I care to admit) I have taken a sabbatical to sweep away the cobwebs blocking my creativity. Through life occurrences, dry spells, and periods of no internet (gasp!) I have finally managed to return, this time to stay and with some exciting news! My short entitled, The Bride and The Barbarian, will be released with Whispers Publishing on December 11th! :-)

I hope you enjoy the blurb I have included and check out TB & TB when it comes out. Happy reading!

THE BRIDE AND THE BARBARIAN

An unexpected gift

After a fire destroyed her home and her fiancĂ© abandoned her, Zora Austin did all she could to piece her life back together and forget the Christmas wedding she’d always longed to have. More than a year later she is doing well. Then a day spent at a late Autumn festival takes a turn when a strange vendor lures her into accepting a gift. A crystal containing a tiny medieval warlord. Inexplicably compelled, Zora takes the figurine home with her. The moment her fingertips glide across the top, she is pulled into the crystal and into the barbarian’s very real embrace.

An awaited reprieve

Before the spirited beauty in the bridal gown tumbled into his arms and subsequently freed him, highland warlord, Thedan the Dark had known only a thirst for vengeance and a fierce longing for that which he’d been too long denied…his foretold bride. Convincing her that she is his might be difficult. Finding a way to keep the crystal from reclaiming him for all time may prove impossible. Still, if he can escape the power of the curse, will he choose long awaited vengeance or a new life with his bride in a world so different from all he’d known?

I got my copy yesterday and finish it same day. Only one problem with this book....too short!!! I love the plot. I like the characters but I wish it was time travel story. Where heroine goes back in time other than that I dig the story. I like it!!! I cannot wait for your next book to be release. Welcome back we miss you!!!!

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Cinquetta!!

I'm so glad you liked the story and thank you for the 'Welcome Back'. I have soooo missed communicating with you and writing on the regular like I'd been doing.
I do regret that TB&TB was so short. However, you WILL see Zora and Thedan again in book two. Book two will be Deena's story.
I've only just begun to outline it so it will be awhile b4 it's out.

I'm glad you asked. I had to take a serious and extended break from writing, which nearly did me in b/c I love it so much. At the time that I was steadily working on Night Secrets and Whispered Promises, life began throwing me serious financial and emotional curve balls. I found that I couldn't keep my mind focused on my stories enough to do them justice and ended up nearly rewriting parts of them to death.
Finally, a close friend basically gave me a verbal smackdown. Afterward, she told me to handle my business and get back to writing asap. lol. So, I did and things are much calmer now. As soon as I finish reading and reviewing a novel for a friend of mine, I am getting back to Whispered Promises. My goeal is to have a rough draft of it ready for editing by 'fresh eyes' by the end of the year. I've added quite a lot to it and really tightened up earlier scenes. I'm looking forward to sharing it.
'Pirates' and 'Again' are on the back burner for now because WP is the closest to being finished. When it comes to 'Night Secrets', I won't even lie, some of the parts I wrote and set aside had me afraid to sleep with the light off. lol VERY suspenseful. I'm really looking forward to putting my all into that one too. Now that I'm back, I will keep you informed on my progress. :)
